June to mid-September
My name is Sarah Lane and teaching English is my job and my delight.
After a degree in English Literature at Oxford University, I qualified as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language in 1982. I have since worked in Spain, Greece and the UK, teaching all ages. I have a lot of experience with teenagers. In addition I am familiar with most international exams: IELTS, Cambridge, PET etc.
I like to chat with you (via e-mail or phone) before you book, so we can establish that I can meet your needs. I am happy to negotiate the hours we work together, though generally it is better to have the classes in the morning. Please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
In summer (June – mid- September) the school is at my home near the village of Townshend, about 9 miles east of Penzance. If you hire a car, it takes 20 minutes to drive from Penzance. Alternatively, there is a regular bus service [U4] which would bring you nearly to me, and I would meet you at the bus stop. Travel time approx 30minutes total.
There are many nice homes to rent in the area, and the seaside town of Marazion or the village of Perranuthnoe are very popular with visitors. Airbnb is a budget option.
The area is famous for its scenery, prehistoric sights, natural wildlife and beautiful gardens, and I offer full or half day accompanied excursions.
Recent students include a Spanish aeronautical engineer, an Italian Judge and his son, and a German civil servant. Students have said:
